Ballet Master Compagnia e Scuola di Ballo Teatro San Carlo

(Napoli - Italia)

The Teatro di San Carlo Dance School in Naples is the oldest dance school in Italy and one of the most prestigious in Europe; it was founded in 1812 during the reign of Joachim Murat to train young talents in the art of dance. The training program offers a comprehensive eight-year course of study for students aged 10 to 18, preceded by preparatory courses for younger children (starting at age 7–8). The curriculum combines classical academic dance—including the study of repertoire, character dance, and Spanish dance—with modern-contemporary dance (Graham and Cunningham techniques), complemented by solid athletic and musical training (music theory and music history). Students have the unique opportunity to study within the Teatro di San Carlo and work directly alongside professionals from the Ballet Company during the artistic seasons and end-of-year performances.
